Pre and post natal

Many women find Pilates to be one of best exercises to do, both during and after their pregnancy. One the top reasons Pilates and pregnancy go together so well is that Pilates is great at building core strength. If your abdominals, back, pelvic floor and Kegel muscles are toned, they will support a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery. Another great reason to do Pilates during pregnancy is that Pilates is so adaptable while your body goes through considerable changes. Most Pilates exercises can be modified so as your weight increases and mobility decreases special Pilates variations make training pleasant and achievable. Focus and breathing exercises are meditative and calming during an exciting yet stressful time. Pilates is also famous for helping new moms get their figures back after the baby is born!

Meet Lori…

Lori is happily married and just had her second child. Everything is great and she adores her husband and family but she’s a little unhappy about what birthing did to her body. She feels a bit stretched out of place with a little excess flab and not great muscle tone. Her back aches from pregnancy still flared up from time to time especially when lifting the kids. She also noticed that laughing or sneezing hard led to embarrassing urine release and that really annoyed her. Her friend told her about Pilates and she decided to give it a try. Wow, within a few weeks she saw a noticeable difference in her posture and her ability to move better with more ease and greater strength. She also felt her breasts and butt were a bit “perkier” and no more nasty surprises when sneezing was a great relief! Lori now treats herself to Pilates twice a week while her husband watches the kids and feels life is just perfect.
